Privacy Policy
In one line: we don't collect any of your data. Here's exactly how, point by point.
“Guitar Study Room” (the website and iOS app) is a completely free guitar-learning product, created and maintained by Teacher Wei Our principle is simple: if we can avoid collecting it, we don't collect it at all.
What we don't collect
No accounts, no sign-up, no phone number. We don't collect your name, location, contacts, or device identifiers, and we don't include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. There are no ads in the app.
Your progress and preferences
Your check-ins, completed lessons, practice scores, light/dark preference, practice journal, and so on are all saved only in the local storage on your own device (never uploaded to a server). Switch devices or delete the app and it's gone — which also means this data never leaves your phone.
Microphone (the tuner)
The tuner needs the microphone to “hear” the pitch of the strings you pluck. The audio is analyzed live on your device only and discarded immediately — we don't record, store, or upload any audio. You can turn off microphone permission anytime in your system Settings (the tuner won't work after that, but everything else is unaffected).
Notifications (practice reminders)
The “daily practice reminder” in the app is optional. Once enabled, the reminder is fired locally by your own device on schedule, without going through our servers, and we don't send your information to anyone. You can turn it off anytime in the app or in system settings.
Children
This product is for anyone who wants to learn guitar. We don't collect information from children specifically — because we don't collect information from anyone.
